Five miles of traffic on M5 after caravan overturns

Two lanes are closed on the M5 northbound this afternoon after a caravan overturned on the carriageway.

Live traffic and travel site Inrix says that traffic is queuing for around give miles due to recovery work and the incident, with lanes one and two shut.

The caravan has reportedly overturned a J26 A38 at Wellington.

Congestion is leading up to J27 Tiverton with delays of up to half an hour reported at this time.

Inrix said: “Two lanes closed and queueing traffic for five miles due to recovery work and accident, overturned caravan involved on M5 Northbound at J26 A38 (Wellington). Congestion to J27 (Tiverton). Travel time is around 20 minutes. Lanes one and two (of three) are closed.”

It’s a busy day on the roads in Devon with another crash reported down in Torquay, involving a motorbike and a car on the A3022 Avenue road near Garway Lodge.
