Shoppers at a branch of Tesco in Devon received a shock this afternoon when police officers swooped on a vehicle.
Witnesses said police stopped a black car in the supermarket car park at Cullompton, which they searched and then interviewed the driver.
Armed officers were spotted alongside traffic officers, and a number of police vehicles were present.
A Devon and Cornwall Police force incident manager said it was a standard vehicle search for possible motoring offences. No one was arrested.
